Absolutely. Please use our fire drums to keep the fire off the ground to protect the grass and roots.
Be safe: Check the NSW rural fire service for up-to-date fire bans in our area.
Do you allow generators?
We do not allow generators as most of our customers come to Wooyung to enjoy the peace and quiet of bush camping.
Do you have a greywater dump point?
We do not have a dump point at this time, and as we are using a septic system, cassettes cannot be put into the toilet as it causes problems with the system.
Do you have dog-friendly campsites?
Yes! Dogs are welcome in the campground area and they can stay for free. Please see our Pet Guidelines here.
Do you have powered sites?
We have a limited number of powered sites available but only unpowered sites in the camping area.
How close is the beach?
Wooyung Beach is a 1-2 minute walk from the campground. You can’t see the beach from the campground but you can certainly hear it!
The beach is dog friendly, but it is not patrolled and can have rips. Head to Pottsville Creek, just a short drive away, for a more gentle swim.
What kind of amenities do you have?
Our amenities block is due for a facelift, so kindly note that while it is clean and functional, it looks very old and tired! We are working on plans to update it soon. In the meantime, it provides hot bore water showers, flushing toilets and rainwater to sinks. Unfortunately it’s not suitable for Disabled access at this time but plans are underway to get this fixed. Please bear with us until this happens.
What kind of water is available?
We collect and use rainwater here at Wooyung and our waste uses a septic tank, which means we are unable to provide hose water to our powered sites so please fill up any tanks before arriving.
Otherwise containers can be filled at the amenities with the rainwater tap there.
What time is Check-In and Check Out?
Roomed Accommodation check-in is 2pm; check-out is 10am.
Camping check-in is 11am; check-out is 11am.
Where can I get firewood?
We usually offer bagged, dry and split firewood for sale at reception. You’re welcome to BYO firewood but please use dry and non-painted/non-treated wood only.
Please do not harvest wood from our forest areas and don’t burn rubbish.
Where can we swim?
We’re just a short drive from some absolutely idyllic swimming spots. Our favourites are Pottsville Creek, Torakina Beach, Hastings Point or Cudgera Creek.
Wooyung Beach is unpatrolled and our waterway onsite is a brackish creek that is not suitable for swimming or recreational use but it’s very easy to get to several beautiful spots close by.
