Sustainability

Wooyung Beach Holiday Park has a positive impact on the environment. We proudly encourage low-impact holidays and actively promote sustainable habits to our guests.

We are constantly evolving our business to adapt more sustainable practices including green energy sources, waste management, native flora regeneration and habitat creation.

This has been a priority of ours for decades. We established a koala transit corridor through the property in the 1980s, and the completion of our Eco Cabin in 2004 was one of the earliest environmentally focused accommodation developments in the Tweed.

To transform and evolve our naturally beautiful Holiday Park, to delight and excite guests with our personal touch, brand and memorable outdoor experiences all whilst sustainably conserving our part in the Tweed Coast Wildlife Corridor.

Our Sustainability Pledge

We are committed to environmental sustainability by recycling more, reducing our energy and water consumption and our continued encouragement of wildlife habitat.

By 2024 we pledge to

  • Reduce water consumption by 30%
  • Increase our solar energy use by 50%
  • Establish 2000m2 of new wetland / waterbird habitat
  • Establish separation of organic waste - 15% reduction in trucked waste
  • Establish Container Deposit Scheme - 10% reduction in trucked waste
  • Establish off-grid demonstration display for sustainable practices at home
